S. Korea's Olympic Team Returns Home

South Korea's national Olympic squad has returned home after 16 days of competition in the 28th Athens Olympic Games.

The last group of some 160 athletes and officials was greeted by families, friends and fans at Incheon International Airport Tuesday morning.

At a news conference, the Korean delegation's chief, Shin Bak-je, said the Korean team was able to reap good results thanks to the enthusiastic support from the public during the Games period.

The news conference was followed by a brief disbanding ceremony.

The athletes and officials visited Cheong Wa Dae later in the day to meet President Roh Moo-hyun.

South Korea finished ninth in the final standings with nine golds, 12 silvers and nine bronzes.
