President Lee Jae Myung has carried out additional vice-ministerial appointments.
According to presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung on Sunday, Lee appointed vice ministers of education, science, veterans affairs, transport and small firms.
Choi Eun-ok, former chief of the office of high education policy at the education ministry, was appointed vice education minister, and Koo Hyuk-chae, head of the office of planning and coordination at the Ministry of Science and ICT, was named first vice minister of science.
Lee also appointed seven vice minister-level officials, including lawyer Cho Won-chul as minister of government legislation and Lim Seung-kwan as chief of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
Hong So-young, who currently leads the Military Manpower Administration’s central regional office, was appointed commissioner and will be the agency’s first female chief.
