On the final day of the Athens Olympics, the South Korean women's handball team clinched a silver medal after losing 4-2 to Denmark in a nail-biting penalty shootout.
The two sides were tied at 29-29 after a 60-minute regulation, going into extra sessions twice, each for ten minutes. Even the grueling two overtime sessions couldn't determine the victor with the game tied again at 34-34, forcing a penalty shootout.
The South Korean side, Olympic title holders in 1992 and 1988 as well as silver medalists in 1996 and 1984 Olympics, has been on the losing side against the European nation in past matches.
On Saturday, the South Koreans advanced to the women's handball final in a 32-31 cliffhanger match against France.
