South Korea assured of at least silver in men

South Korea was assured of at least a silver medal in the Olympic men's badminton singles on Friday as Shon Seung-mo advanced to the final.

Sohn beat his Indonesian opponent Soni Dwi Kuncoro 2 sets to 1 in the semifinals at Goudi Olympic Hall, becoming the first South Korean ever to secure a place in the final of the event.

He will compete with Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat for the gold medal on Saturday.
