South Korea's Jin Jong-oh ranked 5th, recording a final score of 682.9 points in the men's 10-meter air pistol competition in Athens.
Jin and two North Korean shooters joined the list of the final eight earlier in the preliminaries.
However, medal prospects for the Korean shooters were slim.

Jeon Jae-yeon and Seo Yoon-hee have advanced to the second round of 16 in the women's singles preliminary in the Olympic badminton tournament.
Jeon, ninth in the world rankings, defeated Canada's Reid Charmaine 2 to 0 in just 28 minutes on Saturday.
Jeon's colleague Seo Yoon-hee also won over Pi Hongyan of France in the preliminary.

South Korea was defeated 54 to 71 by China in the women's basketball preliminary at the Athens Olympics.
The team needs to win at least two out of the four remaining matches against New Zealand, the U.S. and the Czech Republic to qualify for the second round Monday.
Experts say South Korea has a high chance of beating New Zealand, with the other two being stronger than Korea.
