South Korea's Seo Sun-hwa and Cho Eun-young have failed to advance to the final round in the women's 10-meter air rifle shooting event in the Athens Olympics Saturday.
Cho finished at 14th overall with 394 points and Seo at 27th with 391. Seo, appearing distressed at her performance, left the shooting grounds in tears.
Russia's Galkina Lioubov took first place in the preliminary round with 399 points.
South Korea will now be pinning its hopes on a first gold medal by Cheon Min-ho, who will be in the line-up for the men's 10-meter air rifle on Monday.
Cheon is the first Korean shooter to achieve two consecutive wins in the World Cup, winning the Milan and Athens events this year and breaking the world junior record at the Athens event.
In other Olympic news, last year's winner of the judo World Athletic Championships, Choi Min-ho, will be facing off Saturday against Ludwig Paischer of Austria in the qualifying rounds of the men's 60-kilogram division.
And South Korea's Olympic soccer team will be facing off against Mexico for a second round of quarter-final qualifiers.
