South and North Korea will march together at the upcoming Athens Olympics under a single banner on Friday.
The Korean Peninsula flag will be carried into the stadium jointly by a former member of North Korea's national basketball team, Kim Sung-ho, and a South Korean volleyball player, Koo Min-jung.
The flag-bearers were selected at Monday's meeting between the president of South Korea's Olympic Committee, Lee Yun-taek, and his North Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-duck, in Athens.
Officials says athletes from the two Koreas will wear the same uniform, adding that as many athletes as possible will take part in the joint march at the opening ceremony.
Earlier in June, South and North Korea officially agreed in a working-level meeting in Beijing to march in together at the opening ceremony of the Athens Summer Games.
The two sides agreed to follow the precedent of the 2000 Sydney Games, in which they marched under a single flag bearing an image of a unified Korean Peninsula.
