Written: 2004-08-09 00:00:00Updated: 0000-00-00 00:00:00

North Koreans will be able to witness the historic Athens Olympic Games from the comfort of their own homes. South Korea agreed to help the North cover the Olympic events via satellite broadcast during related talks last week held in North Korea's scenic Mount Geumgang resort. The Korean Broadcasting Committee will thus provide 150 million won out of the prospective 400 million won worth of broadcasting costs to the Korea Central Broadcasting Committee in the North. The remaining costs will be provided by the Seoul government from inter-Korean cooperation funds.
