The main opposition Democratic Party(DP) said it will file complaints against ruling People Power Party(PPP) figures who claim that the December 3 martial law decree is justified.
DP Rep. Lee Yong-woo, who oversees legal response in the party's special committee on overcoming the insurrection crisis and stabilizing state affairs, said on Saturday the complaints will accuse the PPP figures of promoting rebellion.
DP chief spokesperson Cho Seung-rae said his party intends to file complaints as early as Monday against some ten people, including PPP-affiliated politicians and YouTubers.
During Saturday's committee meeting, DP lawmakers called for an immediate detention and investigation of President Yoon Suk Yeol following reports that he had ordered martial law troops to open fire when deemed necessary.
Meanwhile, the main opposition plans to table a special bill next week aimed at investigating the martial law crisis and protecting public interest whistleblowers.
