Acting President Han Duck-soo requested American businesses to continue investing in the country amid concerns over the short-lived martial law and presidential impeachment crisis.
At a luncheon with the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea(AMCHAM) and major U.S. investment firms on Thursday, Han asked for continued investment and corporate activity based on the confidence in the resilience of the South Korean economy.
The acting president said South Korea and the U.S. are contributing toward global security and economic prosperity based on their alliance over the past 70-odd years, and that the alliance will further strengthen through cooperation in a wide range of areas, including defense, economy, cutting-edge technology and culture.
Han pledged that the government will communicate to help ease difficulties and support the operation of U.S. investment firms in the country.
Promising to continue projects in South Korea, AMCHAM requested the government pave the way to create a stable and predictable market environment.
