The Prime Minister's Office(PMO) intends to thoroughly look into whether requesting a parliamentary reconsideration of six opposition-passed bills, one of which requires the government to buy surplus rice, would be a feasible decision in the interest of the nation's future and the public.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, a high-ranking official from the PMO said each ministry continues to explain the government's position to opposition lawmakers on the relevant parliamentary committee.
The official said similar constitutional and legal reviews will be conducted over Assembly-passed bills on special counsel probes into President Yoon Suk Yeol's alleged treason during the December 3 martial law decree and allegations surrounding first lady Kim Keon-hee until the request deadline on January 1.
On the appointments of three Constitutional Court justices ahead of Yoon's impeachment trial, the official said more time is required to collect and consider various opinions.
