Tottenham Hotspur forward and South Korean national team captain Son Heung-min was named the country's top sports star in an annual poll for the eighth consecutive year.
According to Gallup Korea's survey of one-thousand-741 people aged 13 and older nationwide between November 22 and 25, 70-point-seven percent of respondents, who were allowed to name up to two athletes, mentioned the 32-year-old footballer.
One of two Golden Boot winners from the 2021-2022 season in the Premier League, Son had posted double-digit goals for eight straight seasons since the 2016-2017 season.
In second place on the annual poll is fellow national team regular Lee Kang-in of Paris Saint-Germain, who earned 12-point-seven percent of support.
The rest of the Top Ten list was mostly filled by medalists from this year's Paris Olympics, including Shin Yu-bin, bronze medalist in mixed doubles and the women's team event in table tennis, who came in third, and An Se-young, Olympic champion in women's singles badminton, who ranked fourth.
Others include fencer Oh Sang-uk, who swept the men's individual and team sabre gold medals, Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae, shooting silver medalist Kim Ye-ji, and triple archery gold medalist Kim Woo-jin.
The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent, with a margin of error of plus or minus two-point-three percentage points.
