Labor and management at the state-run Korea Railroad Corporation(KORAIL) reached a tentative agreement Wednesday, almost a week after workers launched a general strike.

KORAIL and the Korean Railway Workers’ Union produced the tentative accord after concluding negotiations at around 3:35 p.m.

The move comes some 30 hours after the two sides resumed working-level negotiations to go over key demands, including a two-point-five raise in basic wages.

With the latest deal, workers who went on strike Thursday are set to return to work at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
