The National Assembly passed a resolution on Wednesday demanding that President Yoon Suk Yeol lift his emergency declaration of martial law.

All 190 representatives present voted in favor. 

The speaker’s office claimed in a statement that the declaration of martial law has become void. 

Under Article 77, Section 5, of the Constitution, the president is required to lift martial law upon request from parliament based on a majority vote.
