Ruling People Power Party(PPP) leader Han Dong-hoon said President Yoon Suk Yeol was wrong to declare martial law.

In a statement issued after Yoon’s televised announcement late Tuesday night, Han said he will put an end to the state of martial law together with the South Korean people.

A key PPP official told KBS that the ruling party has convened an emergency general assembly of its representatives and an emergency Supreme Council meeting.

PPP floor leader Choo Kyung-ho has also convened an emergency general meeting of its lawmakers.
