The main opposition Democratic Party (DP) held a massive rally in Seoul on Saturday, condemning the Yoon Suk Yeol administration's handling of state affairs and demanding a special counsel probe into first lady Kim Keon-hee.

In the rally at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul, DP Rep. Kim Min-seok said that judging Yoon and punishing the first lady are all a battle for democracy, adding she will go to prison.

The DP has held a similar rally every weekend starting November 2, and the latest protest was the fifth.

DP Chairman Lee Jae-myung did not deliver a speech during the latest protest, which lasted for about 20 minutes.

The DP then joined a candlelight vigil and a march organized by civic groups.

Conservative groups also held a rally at a nearby location, but there were no clashes with liberal civic groups.
