The prosecution raided the Jincheon National Training Center on Thursday as part of an investigation concerning a service contract that the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee clinched with a facility maintenance company last year.

In May, the culture ministry asked prosecutors to look into allegations that a senior official on the sports committee colluded with the maintenance firm in February of last year to produce the contract worth seven billion won, or some five million U.S. dollars.

The finance ministry first raised the suspicions in February.

Prosecutors from the Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office were said to have secured via Thursday’s raid the personal computer of the training center employee who was in charge of the service contract.
