Dongduk Women’s University has agreed to temporarily suspend discussions about switching to a coeducational system.

The university said Thursday that it made the decision after a three-hour meeting with the student body.

Additionally, the student body agreed to stop its protests by returning to classes and ceasing to occupy school buildings, on the understanding that any future discussions on the matter will involve consultations with students.

The student council held a general meeting on Wednesday and voted on whether the school should transition to a coed system.

The student council overwhelmingly voted against the proposal with one-thousand-971 students out of one-thousand-973 saying only women should be allowed to attend the university.
