A Seoul court has dismissed Yonsei University’s appeal and upheld a court injunction suspending the results of a natural sciences exam as part of the school's early admissions process for the 2025 academic year, after some of the questions were leaked.

Yonsei University reportedly intends to appeal the ruling, which the Seoul Western District Court issued Wednesday.

A lawyer representing a group of exam-takers said prolonging the legal proceedings with another appeal would be an act of deception, harming exam-takers and the nation’s education system.

The legal counsel urged the school to promptly acknowledge infringements of fairness in the process of administering the exam and fulfill its duty as an educational institution by conducting a retest.

On Friday, the court granted the plaintiffs’ request to suspend the validity of the exam results until the resolution of a lawsuit filed by exam-takers seeking a retest.
