South Korea was held to a 1-1 draw by underdog Palestine on Tuesday in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, ending South Korea’s winning streak at four games.

Team Korea, led by head coach Hong Myung-bo, failed to win the Group B match at Amman International Stadium in Amman in the third round of the Asian qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

South Korea lost a goal in the 12th minute, but captain Son Heung-min scored an equalizer three minutes later.

The 1-1 draw came two months after Palestine held South Korea to a goalless draw in their first Group B match.

Despite the draw, South Korea maintained its lead in Group B with 14 points.

Son’s goal was his 51st international goal, giving him sole possession of second place on the list of South Korea’s all-time record goal scorers in international games.
