South Korean athletes and officials pledged on Thursday to do their best in the upcoming 28th Athens Summer Olympic Games. During an inaugural ceremony for the South Korean delegation attended by some 25,000 athletes and officials, Korea Olympic Committee President Lee Yun-taek said South Korea's Olympic team would do its utmost to rank in the top 10 in the Olympic medal tally. Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan and Greek's Ambassador to Seoul also attended the ceremony. Officials at the Korea Olympic Committee have set a target of 13 gold, 10 silver and 13 bronze medals for the upcoming Olympics, which would be the best performance in the nation's history. The South Korean Olympic team, led by Shin Bak-je, will leave for Athens in two groups on August 6th and 11th. Meanwhile, North Korea is reportedly sending a delegation of 75 participants, including 36 athletes for 9 of 28 events in the Games.
