South Korea’s presidential office said the government is prepared no matter who wins the U.S. presidential election.

A high-ranking official at the top office said Tuesday that the November 5 election will significantly affect the political situation in the U.S., China, Russia, the European Union, South Korea and Japan. 

The official also said Seoul needs to respond to the presence of North Korean troops in Russia, adding that casualties have been reported.

They added that the war in Ukraine could affect the U.S. election, while the outcome of the election could impact the war as well as the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
