Around one-point-42 million foreign tourists visited South Korea last month, reaching 96 percent of pre-pandemic levels.

According to the Korea Tourism Organization(KTO) on Monday, June arrivals of one-point-42 million foreign tourists is 47-point-five percent higher compared to the monthly tally a year earlier.

By country, the largest number of tourists came from China at 397-thousand, followed by 258-thousand from Japan, 152-thousand from the United States, and 144-thousand from Taiwan.

During the first six months of the year, seven-point-seven million foreigners visited South Korea, up 73-point-eight percent on-year.

Meanwhile, two-point-two million South Koreans traveled overseas in June, up 25-point-two percent on-year, and equivalent to 89 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
