Jo Bonfrere, the newly-appointed head coach for South Korea's national football team, says he is aiming to include the team in the top four finalists in the 2006 Germany World Cup.
Bonfrere told the Yonhap News Agency Saturday that he believes he can place the team higher than the fourth ranking to which his compatriot Guus Hiddink led the team at the 2002 World Cup.
Bonfrere signed a provisional contract with the Korea Football Association last week.
The Dutchman declined to disclose the salary he has agreed upon with the KFA, but said it would be similar to that of former head coach Hiddink.
Currently in Belgium, Bonfrere said he will study hard to seek an appropriate set of strategies and tactics for the South Korean team.
