The number of cattle farms with confirmed lumpy skin disease(LSD) infections has risen to 87 as of Friday morning.

This follows the confirmation of two additional infections in Seosan in South Chungcheong Province and Gochang in North Jeolla Province on Wednesday, with authorities currently conducting tests for three suspected cases.

The government is set to wrap up its nationwide campaign to vaccinate all four-million-76-thousand cattle on Friday, with the completion rate standing at around 99-point-nine percent as of 2 p.m. Thursday.

LSD is a virus transmitted by blood-feeding insects, including flies and mosquitoes, that does not affect humans and causes fever and skin nodules, with a fatality rate below ten percent.
