The number of cattle farms with confirmed lumpy skin disease(LSD) infections has risen to 84 as of Wednesday morning.

This follows the confirmation of three additional infections in Seosan and Dangjin in South Chungcheong Province on Tuesday, with more than 40 percent of the total confirmed cases reported from the province. Authorities are currently conducting tests for four suspected cases.

The government plans to vaccinate all four-million-76-thousand cattle in the nation by Friday, with the completion rate standing at around 98 percent as of 8 a.m. Wednesday as some three-point-97-million cows were inoculated.

LSD is a virus transmitted by blood-feeding insects, including flies and mosquitoes, that does not affect humans and causes fever and skin nodules, with a fatality rate below ten percent.
