The number of cattle farms with confirmed lumpy skin disease(LSD) infections has risen to 81 as of Tuesday morning.

This follows the confirmation of three additional infections in Dangjin in South Chungcheong Province, Goseong in Gangwon Province and the first reported case in Chungju in North Chungcheong on Monday, with authorities currently conducting tests for five suspected cases.

The government plans to vaccinate all four-million-76-thousand cattle in the nation by Friday, with the completion rate standing at around 95 percent as of 8 a.m. Tuesday as some three-point-85-million cows were inoculated.

LSD is a virus transmitted by blood-feeding insects, including flies and mosquitoes, that does not affect humans and causes fever and skin nodules, with a fatality rate below ten percent.
