Turkey defeated South Korea 1-0 in a friendly soccer match held to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the 2002 World Cup.

At the game held at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul on Wednesday night, Turkey's Hakan Sukur scored the only goal of the match near the 22nd minute by kicking home a pass lobbed from a teammate from near center field.

The two countries will play another game in the city of Daegu on Saturday.

Turkey finished third at the 2002 World Cup by defeating South Korea in a third-place playoff.
