New COVID-19 cases came in at around 65-thousand on Friday amid the winter resurgence of the virus.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said that 65-thousand-207 infections were reported throughout Thursday, including 68 from overseas, bringing the country's cumulative caseload to very nearly 29 million.
The daily figure dropped by some six-thousand from the previous day and three-thousand from a week ago. Compared to two weeks ago, the figure decreased 17-hundred.
The number of seriously or critically ill patients is down by 28 from the previous day to 562, topping 500 for the 13th consecutive day.
Thursday added 68 deaths, raising the cumulative toll to 32-thousand-95. The fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
