New COVID-19 Cases at 62,738, On-Week Rise Continues

New COVID-19 cases registered in the 60-thousands as on-week rises continue.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that 62-thousand-738 infections were reported throughout Friday, including 61 from overseas.

The tally is up by some 98-hundred from a week ago.

The number of hospitalized patients in serious or critical condition is down by 14 from the previous day at 428 but the figure has remained above 400 for the third week since November 19.

Friday added 54 new deaths, raising the death toll to 31-thousand-29. The overall fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
