New COVID-19 Cases in 30,000s for Fourth Day

New COVID-19 cases registered in the 30-thousands for a fourth day amid concerns of another wave.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said Sunday that 34-thousand-511 infections were reported throughout the previous day, including 46 from overseas, raising the total caseload to around 25-million-538-thousand.

The daily tally dropped by about 28-hundred from a day ago but rose by over eight-thousand from a week ago. This is the highest figure for a Sunday in six weeks.

The number of critically ill hospitalized patients rose by two from a day ago to 272.

Saturday added 27 deaths, raising the death toll to 29-thousand-158. The overall fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
