New COVID-19 Cases in 20,000s for Fifth Day

New COVID-19 cases have again registered in the 20-thousands but posted on-week growth for a third day.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said Sunday that 26-thousand-256 infections were reported throughout the previous day including 67 from overseas. The country's cumulative caseload is approaching 25-point-three million.

The Sunday tally slightly decreased from a day ago, but increased by some 48-hundred from a week ago and 86-hundred from two weeks ago.

The number of daily infections posted on-week gains for the third consecutive day.

The number of critically ill hospitalized patients is up by 16 to 212.

Saturday added 16 deaths, raising the death toll to 28-thousand-990. The overall fatality rate stands at zero-point-11 percent.
