In American major league ballplay, Choi Hee-seop of the Florida Marlins on Tuesday slammed a two-run homer in his team's season opener against the Montreal Expos in Miami, Florida.

In his first at bat, first baseman Choi put the Marlins ahead in the second inning by crushing Livan Hernandez's pitch over the right field wall, giving Florida a 2-0 lead.

The South Korean became the 12th player in Marlin team history to homer in his first game.

Choi finished the game with 3 RBIs, leading his team to a 4-3 win over the Expos.

Choi's three RBIs in a single game also tied a personal best, set twice last year.
