S. Korea Reports 12,161 New COVID-19 Cases

South Korea reported about 12-thousand new COVID-19 cases amid a general downturn in infections.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Thursday that 12-thousand-161 infections were confirmed throughout the previous day, including 65 cases from overseas, bringing the total caseload to 18-million-200-thousand-346.

The daily tally dropped by some 12-hundred from a day ago. The figure rose by 22-hundred from a week ago but fell by over 66-hundred from two weeks ago.

The number of serious and critical patients receiving care at the hospital was down by eight from a day ago to 106, remaining in the 100s for the 13th consecutive day.

Eighteen additional deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 24-thousand-323. The fatality rate remains unchanged at zero-point-13 percent.
