COVID-19 Tally Hits 131-Day Low, Deaths Fall to 9

New COVID-19 cases in South Korea fell below ten-thousand to around six-thousand, the lowest in 131 days.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said on Monday that six-thousand-139 infections were confirmed throughout the previous day, including 48 cases from overseas, bringing the total caseload to 18 million-86-thousand-462.

It marks the lowest daily tally since five-thousand-804 cases were reported on January 19. It also marks the lowest Monday figure in 19 weeks.

The number of serious and critical patients receiving care at medical facilities dropped by ten from a day ago to 178, the lowest since July 16 of last year. 

Sunday saw nine deaths, raising the death toll to 24-thousand-167 with the fatality rate standing at zero-point-13 percent. The daily deaths fell below ten for the first time in about seven months.
