Exports fell by over ten percent on-year in the first ten days of February.

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Friday, the country’s outbound shipments stood at 15-point-seven billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, down 12-point-six percent from a year earlier.

The drop is primarily attributed to a decrease in the number of working days for the period in question, which dropped by two from a year ago to six-and-a-half days due to the Lunar New Year holiday.

Average daily exports, however, grew by 14-point-two percent during the cited period.

Shipments of semiconductors and petroleum products rose seven-point-four percent and 27-point-one percent respectively, while auto exports plunged 47-point-five percent.

Exports to China and the United States fell three percent and 17-point-three percent each, while outbound commodities to Singapore grew over 26 percent.
