National flag carrier Korean Air has been ordered to suspend flights to Hong Kong for two weeks after some of its passengers tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

According to Hong Kong's health authorities on Sunday, five passengers aboard a Korean Air flight traveling from South Korea to Hong Kong tested positive upon arrival last Thursday.

All five are reportedly citizens of Hong Kong and submitted certificates that they were not infected with the virus before boarding the plane at Incheon International Airport.

The Hong Kong government ordered a two-week suspension of Korean Air flights to its territory until January 8 in accordance with its antivirus procedures.

Korea Air runs flights to Hong Kong three times a week.
