The government has set a budget of 105 billion won to support recovery efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Omais that had impacted parts of the country late last month.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on Friday, expenses for North Gyeongsang Province, which was hit hardest, stand at 89-point-four billion won, while five-point-two billion won has been earmarked for South Chungcheong Province.

By facilities, 66-point-two billion won will be spent to restore rivers, while seven-point-seven billion won will go towards land erosion prevention.

Omais had flooded the country's southeastern Gyeongsang region after landing along the southeastern coast on August 24.

Earlier this month, the government declared the North Gyeongsang city of Pohang as a special disaster zone.
