The number of high-ranking female officials at central government agencies exceeded 130 last year, setting a new record for the second straight year.
According to an annual government report, the number of women in top government posts rose to 132 from 122 the year before, taking up nine-point-three percent of high-level officials. It’s the highest figure yet.
The proportion of women in manager-level positions rose by two percentage points from 2019 to 22-point-eight percent, while women in level-five or higher grew to 20-point-eight percent and in executive-level positions grew to 22-point-one percent.
Female participation on government committees was 43-point-two percent among central agencies and 41-point-eight percent at municipal governments.
The Ministry of Personnel Management said all government agencies and institutions surpassed their target goals for the employment of women in managerial positions.
