Starting Monday, special quarantine measures for the Chuseok holiday will be in place for two weeks until September 26.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA), people will be able to visit long-term care hospitals and nursing homes, regardless of the social distancing level, if they make reservations.

In-person contact will be allowed if the patient and visitor have both been fully vaccinated for over two weeks.

From Friday to next Thursday, up to eight family members will be allowed to get together at home if they include four fully vaccinated people. Only up to four people will be allowed during this period if the participants have received one vaccine or none at all.

During the two-week period, eating at expressway rest stops will be prohibited and highway tolls will be collected, unlike previous years when tolls were halted during major holidays.
