Unionized subway workers in Seoul warned that they will launch a strike on Tuesday unless they see progress in final negotiations with the management Monday.

Unionized workers at Seoul Metro warned on Sunday that they will stage a full-scale walkout on Tuesday as planned if the government and management stick to a restructuring plan. The final negotiations are set for 3 p.m. Monday.

If the groups fail to reach an agreement, crew members will walk out starting with Tuesday’s first train. Remaining workers will begin the strike at 9 a.m.

Unionized employees, excluding essential workers, will hold a massive rally at 1 p.m. Tuesday in front of the National Assembly.

The workers are demanding the company withdraw the restructuring plan and produce measures to deal with its financial problems outside of dismissing employees.
