Daily COVID-19 cases hit one-thousand-433 on Sunday, falling below 15-hundred after six days over that threshold.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) reported on Monday that the new cases confirmed from 12 a.m. Sunday to 12 a.m. Monday raised the total caseload to 274-thousand-415.
The daily tally dropped by 322 from the previous day, apparently due to fewer tests over the weekend.
Of the new cases, one-thousand-409 were locally transmitted infections, while 24 were foreign imports.
By region, the Seoul metropolitan area reported eleven-hundred cases, accounting for 78-point-one percent of local cases. The daily tally in the capital area has been over one-thousand for the month so far, except for last Monday.
Non-capital regions added 309 cases, accounting for 21-point-nine percent.
One more person died of the virus, raising the death toll to two-thousand-360. The nation’s fatality rate stands at zero-point-86 percent.
The number of critically ill patients dropped by nine from the previous day to 342.
