Health authorities have drafted measures to prevent vaccine-related mishaps and will re-vaccinate anyone who received an expired vaccine.
The state vaccine task force said Friday that in accordance with a decision by an expert advisory committee, revaccination will be allowed for those who received expired jabs.
An interval time of 21 days will be observed for people who received the Pfizer vaccine and 28 days for Moderna recipients. If the expiration date is unclear, revaccination will be advised, but if patients decline, their previous vaccine record will remain valid.
Meanwhile, new measures will seek to prevent blunders in vaccine administration. Additional stickers will go on and in boxes so use-by dates can be easily identified.
Computer systems will be improved so the expiry date can be double checked at public health centers and medical facilities. A pop-up message will appear for vaccines with less than 72 hours left until the expiration date.
