The government will resume a discount program for delivered dining next Wednesday. The program had been suspended since July when the fourth pandemic wave started gaining pace.
The government publicized the plan during a meeting of vice ministers on economic policy and consumer prices on Friday.
Consumers who order more than 20-thousand won in food or drink through any of 14 designated delivery apps, including Baemin and Yogiyo, will receive a cashback reward of ten-thousand won on their fourth order.
Also during the meeting, the government estimated that some 15-point-seven million people have already received COVID-19 relief payouts worth nearly four trillion won as of 12 a.m. Friday. The government began handing out 250-thousand won per person to the lower 88 percent of the income bracket from Monday.
The government expects to provide 90 percent of the payouts by the end of this month.
Meanwhile, the government intends to begin its credit card cashback incentive next month. For people who spend at least three percent more than their average monthly spending in the second quarter, the government plans to refund ten percent of the extra spending.
