Health authorities announced that they are not considering the mix-and-match of Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

Kim Ki-nam, a senior official at the state vaccine task force, revealed the government position in a regular briefing on Thursday as he said the government is carrying out its vaccination program based on supply.

His comments came as some have raised concerns about a possible glitch in Moderna shipments as the nation had previously seen disruptions on several occasions.

The government is currently inoculating people aged between 18 and 49. This age group is receiving doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.

Meanwhile, Kim maintained a cautious stance on the possibility of adjusting the current six-week gap between the first and second doses of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

He said the government would have to observe the vaccination situation this and next month before making any adjustments.
