The government, business and academia have formed a consultative body aimed at expanding the artificial intelligence(AI) and data economies.

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT on Tuesday, an inaugural meeting of the high-level strategic dialogue on AI involving the public and private sectors was held in Seoul.

Some of the notable figures in attendance were SK Telecom President and CEO Park Jung-ho, KT CEO Ku Hyeon-mo, LG Uplus CEO Hwang Hyeon-sik, Naver President and CEO Han Seong-sook and Kakao CEO Yeo Min-soo.

Launching discussions on promoting an ultra massive AI ecosystem, the dialogue will be held every six months to seek ways to direct state investment into the sector.

Topics up for discussion include the use of AI semiconductors and cloud computing, programs to foster workforce, and enhancing services in digital health care, robots and mobility.
