The number of people who have applied to take this year's College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT) has once again exceeded 500-thousand after falling below that mark for the first time last year.

The Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation said on Monday that 509-thousand-821 people applied for the exam on November 18, up three-point-three percent from a year earlier.

The number of applicants registered within the school system rose four percent to 360-thousand-710, while those who have already graduated also increased one-point-three percent to 134-thousand-834.

Male students took up 51-point-three percent, while female students took up 48-point-seven percent.
