Six out of ten South Koreans believe the government should transition into the so-called "With Corona" system of coexisting with COVID-19 early next month after the vaccination rate hits 50 percent.

Realmeter's survey of 500 adults last Friday showed 58-point-five percent supported an early transition, compared to 34-point-three percent who opposed. Seven-point-two percent said they did not have an opinion.

While a majority of respondents supported the transition in most regions, opposition overtook support in the southeastern cities of Busan, Ulsan and the surrounding South Gyeongsang Province.

By age group, opposition was greater only among those in their 20s.

"With Corona" refers to a new system that manages the rate of serious cases and death toll with vaccines, similar to influenza. The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent with a margin of error of plus or minus four-point-four percentage points.
