One-thousand-372 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Tuesday, falling to the 13-hundreds for the first time in two weeks.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Tuesday that the new infections detected throughout Monday raised the country's accumulated caseload to 251-thousand-421.
The daily figure dropped by 115 from the previous day to fall to the 13-hundreds for the first time since August 17. Of the new cases, one-thousand-333 were local transmissions, while 39 were from overseas.
By region, the capital area reported 944 cases, accounting for 70-point-eight percent of domestic transmissions. The ratio surpassed 70 percent for the first time in 45 days.
Non-capital regions added 389 cases, including 56 in South Gyeongsang Province and 50 in Daegu and falling under 30 percent of local transmissions.
One more death has been reported, raising the death toll to two-thousand-285, with the fatality rate at zero-point-91 percent. The number of critically ill patients rose by 13 from the previous day to 409.
