The Seoul city government plans to supply 270-thousand electric vehicles by 2025 as part of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Announced on Monday, the plan includes 175-thousand passenger cars, 19-thousand trucks, ten-thousand taxis, three-thousand-500 buses and 62-thousand two-wheeled vehicles.

Ten-thousand taxis in Seoul will be electric-powered by 2025, which is about 15 percent of the total. Charging stations will be provided for corporation-owned taxis.

Seoul City will change three-thousand-500 city buses into electric vehicles, with an aim to push it up to 40 percent of the total in the long term. Starting next year, all newly registered delivery trucks will have to be electric.

The city government expects the percentage of electric vehicles to jump from point-nine percent of all registered vehicles as of July this year, to six-point-six percent by 2025.
